Here we go again...

In a couple of hours, i'm off to the airport to fly to Baku, Azerbaijan - on the edge of the Caspian sea. But it's going to be a very quick visit - just long enough to grab a few hours sleep before the next leg of the journey.

My flight is scheduled to arrive in Baku about 10.30 tonight, Azerbaijan time. Baku is 4 hours ahead of London, so that's 6.30 London time. It's a 5 hour flight.

Tomorrow morning, at 8 o'clock Baku time, i'm due to fly from Baku to Kabul, so i'm not going to get much sleep tonight, that's for sure, although i have booked a room at the "Old City Inn" hotel. Baku to Kabul should take a bit over three and a half hours.

I think the total flying time is a couple of hours less than going via Dubai. And Baku promises to be a more interesting place than Dubai. Not that i'm going to see much of it this time, but i'm planning to spend a few more weeks in England from late April. So if Baku looks like a good spot, i'll probably spend a little more time there on the way back through. We'll see...

It's a beautiful freezing cold day in Kabul today, apparently. It should be nice and sunny though. I'm not looking forward to the weather there over the next month or so!
