I took my camera to London yesterday. It's a moderately expensive Nikon digital SLR, and i carried it round in a plastic carrier bag all day.
It struck me how weird it is that i have no qualms about walking around Kabul with the thing hung over my shoulder - but there's no way in the world i'd walk around London like that. As someone said, it would be like having a big flashing neon sign over your head, saying "mug me".
It's a funny old world, innit?
